From the Editor-in-Chief

Dear Dental Colleagues,

Welcome to the premier issue of Dentistry India. This new publication will endeavor to bring us together in a truly national publication for all Indian dentists.

Our mission is to present the very best in clinical case presentations, continuing dental education (CDE) lessons, treatment planning, and special features that will enhance your knowledge and keep you current with state-of-the-art dental practice. We have assembled an editorial board of prestigious faculty and lecturers from India and around the world to bring you a unique learning experience. I am personally excited to be a part of this new educational opportunity in Indian dentistry.

As the demand for high-quality dentistry grows in India, so must organized dentistry keep pace in setting the standard of care. Dentistry India is proud to be the official publication of the Dental Council of India (DCI). Each issue will carry a message from the DCI addressing the activities and initiatives of the Council undertaken on behalf of all Indian dentists.

Additionally, through the inclusion of two CDE articles in each issue, the DCI and Dentistry India will make available proven, accepted approaches to clinical challenges that represent the highest standard of care for your patients.

This premier issue includes two such CDE lessons that you may review as an example of the types of materials you may test on in future issues. The answers to the quiz questions in this issue are published here to allow you to evaluate your knowledge and to provide an example of how this process will work. Future issues will include a test mechanism that you can use to earn credits accepted and recognized by the DCI.

We wish to thank the DCI for the opportunity to work together to bring an accessible, free method for earning CDE credits to all the dentists in India wishing to participate.
